YMCA Hosting Information Session for Trade Employers Seeking Apprentices
Ontario YMCA locations are seeking local employers to participate in their Newcomer Trades Action Project (ONTAP) that aims to prepare and connect newcomers with jobs in the skilled trades. Five YMCA locations across the province including locations in Ottawa and Toronto will offer free training workshops until the end of February 2022.
One of the goals of this project is to improve access to apprenticeship training across Ontario by connecting participants with local businesses in the skilled trades who can’t find the workers they need to grow. To help achieve this goal, YMCA has hired outreach workers who will facilitate the connection between newcomers and employers.
YMCA has scheduled an ONTAP Information session for Employers in the Trades on Thursday, November 18th at 10:30 am.
