Wholesalers Division Board Meeting Focuses on Strategy, Stability and Industry Leadership

The HRAI Wholesalers Division board met last Friday for their first meeting in this calendar year. At the meeting, the Wholesalers Division board members provided strong strategic direction across finance, membership, workforce development, advocacy, and major industry events, reinforcing the board’s active role in shaping the association’s priorities.

The board reviewed financial performance and confirmed that membership renewals and expenses are tracking on budget, providing stability to support upcoming initiatives.

Significant time was spent on strategic planning for CMPX and the Vancouver Heat Pump Symposium. Divisional Board members offered input on attendance targets, revenue assumptions, pricing strategy, and promotional approaches, helping ensure both events continue to deliver strong industry value while supporting HRAI’s financial sustainability.

The board also engaged deeply on industry transition issues, including A2L refrigerant adoption, regulatory alignment, tariffs, and environmental compliance. Directors shared real world perspectives from their organizations, helping staff focus advocacy efforts and develop clearer, more practical resources for contractors and wholesalers navigating change.

Workforce development was another key focus. Board members reinforced the importance of career ambassadors, skills development, and school outreach, and committed to identifying ambassadors within their own organizations to help scale these efforts nationally.

Finally, the board provided thoughtful input on membership criteria and governance considerations, helping pressure test models and ensure fairness, clarity, and long term relevance as the industry evolves.

Through active discussion, practical insight, and clear direction, the Wholesalers Division board continues to play a critical role in guiding HRAI’s strategic impact on the industry.
