Who’s Promising What: Assessing Federal Party Platforms

On April 10th, HRAI went to Ottawa to share its “Industry Platform” with the various political parties vying for power in the current federal election. The statement of industry priorities was meant to help inform parties of the key issues that matter to the industry, including: trade relations with the U.S.; investment in workforce development; investing in health through IEQ; and including industry in the planning process for new programs and policies related to energy efficiency and carbon reduction in the built environment. These four key themes were pulled from advocacy efforts over the past year.
Over the past week, each of the major political parties released their own platforms for the consideration of Canadian voters. HRAI asked Impact Public Affairs to prepare a short analysis and comparison of these platforms to help members understand and evaluate the priorities of these parties and to assess how they might align with their own priorities and those of the industry at large. That analysis can be found HERE.
