WE’RE MAKING THINGS BETTER, TOGETHER

As we wrap up the year, I’d like to share a few highlights of the work we’ve been doing together to support the HVACR industry.
It’s been a strong year for HRAI. We’ve seen measurable progress across the board, including a very solid financial position. Revenue growth in membership, events, and education has all contributed to this success, continuing a multi-year trend of financial stability that lets us reinvest in programs that support members nationwide.
Member satisfaction is also on the rise. Our quarterly Pulse Survey shows that HRAI’s representation and government-relations effectiveness score inched up again this quarter to 68.1%, with improvements at almost every level of government. Communications performance continues to be one of our biggest strengths, with an 82% satisfaction score—a number any organization would be proud of.
Our IN THE AIR newsletter continues to lead the sector, consistently achieving open rates above 50%, making it one of the top-performing association newsletters in the country.
This year’s Conference + AGM in Halifax was another highlight. More than 95% of attendees reported being satisfied with their experience, and 95% said they plan to join us next year in Gatineau, Quebec. The addition of our one-day Heat Pump Symposium was a major success and helped create a week full of learning, networking, and industry insights.
Membership growth has also been encouraging. We welcomed 145 new members this year, including 40 from outside Ontario, further strengthening HRAI’s position as a truly national voice for Canada’s HVACR sector.
Beyond the numbers, our work on behalf of members continues to expand. Our Government Relations team has been deeply engaged in the issues that matter most—tariffs, workforce development, and the clean-energy transition. We’re advocating to avoid HVACR-related trade escalation with the U.S., while also exploring global opportunities for Canadian manufacturers.
In our updated pre-budget submission, we emphasized four key priorities:
• protecting HVACR supply chains,
• expanding workforce training,
• improving indoor air quality, and
• strengthening retrofit programs through better design.
At the provincial level, HRAI members and staff have been active across the country, meeting with decision-makers through lobby days and legislative outreach. We’re ensuring the industry’s voice is front and centre in conversations about skilled trades, incentive structures, and regulatory harmonization.
Education remains a core part of our mission. We’re continuing to expand our Skills-Gap for Heat Pump Proficiency initiative, working with colleges in multiple provinces to help build a future-ready, climate-aligned workforce. New training subsidies, refreshed curriculum materials, and improved access to technical resources are all helping strengthen the industry’s learning ecosystem.
As we look ahead to 2026, I want to express my sincere appreciation to our members and partners. Your engagement drives our momentum.
Together, we’re growing our association, strengthening our industry, and advancing Canada’s clean-energy future.
With your continued support and participation, I look forward to a great year ahead.
