HRAI’s VP of Government and Stakeholder Relations Martin Luymes held a press conference on Parliament Hill, calling for the federal government to negotiate vigorously and creatively to avert incoming US tariffs and to exempt HVACR products from any potential retaliatory tariffs due to their essential nature.
The products and services of the HVACR industry are vital to life in Canada. These products and services include the complex hospital ventilation systems that prevent the spread of airborne diseases, refrigeration in grocery stores preserving your food, or when you turn on your heating during a -30-degree winter day or cool your home during a summer heat wave.
We stand ready to work with the government to find solutions that protect Canadian interests while ensuring that the essential services of the HVACR industry remain accessible and affordable for all Canadians.
