Domestic hot water (DHW) systems can represent 20-25% of the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and 80-85% of the total Greenhouse Gase Intensity (GHGi) in residential buildings where all other energy uses are electrified (i.e. DHW remains the only natural gas powered system).
