PEI Program Pause : We Want Your Input on Draft Letter

We’ve drafted a letter to the Government of Prince Edward Island regarding the recent pause of several efficiencyPEI and Net Zero programs, and I wanted to share it with you before we send it.

You can read the draft letter here: 2026 PEI Program Pause Letter - DRAFT FOR SHARING.docx

Before we finalize it, I’m hoping to get a quick sense from contractors and people working on the ground on the Island :

  • Does this letter reflect what you’re experiencing right now?

  • Are we missing anything important that PEI government should hear?

We’ve tried to capture the impacts we’re hearing so far, based on my coversations with contractors on the island. I’ve included things like projects being paused, customers holding off on work, workforce impacts, and inventory concerns, as well as the risk of federal funding (Oil to Heat-Pump Affordability OHPA program) not being fully used in PEI.

It is important that this letter is grounded in real experiences on the Islandso I want to hear from YOU.

My goal is simply to make sure we’re representing the situation accurately and reflecting your priorities appropriately before we submit.

Even a short reply would be really helpful or a thumbs-up will be helpful. Feel free to reply directly or reach me at akantamneni@hrai.ca or call/text me at 226-500-4424

Thank you, I really appreciate your input.

Abhi
