Ontario G2 technicians and 313D mechanics: Your help is needed and your input is crucial.

HRAI recently launched a research project called Bridging the Skills Gap for Heat Pump Proficiency project is co-funded by NRCan and Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The project involves assessing the existing technicians in the field to determine existing knowledge, skills and capabilities in comparison with what might be expected in the future. The larger mission of this work is to ensure that the existing workforce of gas technicians (G2) and 313D mechanics remains relevant with the skills and competencies that will be needed to support the residential HVAC sector into the future.

HRAI is looking for G2 and 313D technicians from across Ontario to participate in the assessment, so that we can gain a ‘real perspective’ on the workers’ capabilities. Individuals are eligible for compensation for their participation. Through their participation, they can also gain a sense of what type of training or more experience they might want or need to better empower them to adapt to the newer technologies.

Please help us to prepare contractors and their employees for their success in a rapidly changing industry!
