HRAI Meets with NB Power to Discuss Enhanced Energy Savings Program and Contractor Opportunities

On January 9, 2025, John Fekete, Director of Membership & Regionalization, and Scott Papp, Key Account Manager at the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), met with representatives from NB Power to address significant concerns raised by our members.
The primary focus of the discussion was NB Power’s Enhanced Energy Savings Program and the pressing need for open, fair, and transparent business practices. A particular area of concern involved potential conflicts of interest within the program, specifically the dual roles of auditing and installation services. HRAI strongly advocated for the establishment of a fair and competitive marketplace, ensuring all contractors in New Brunswick have equal opportunities to participate.
As part of HRAI’s ongoing commitment to advocating for its members, this meeting emphasized the importance of fostering constructive dialogue with NB Power. Both parties agreed to reconvene in the near future to continue addressing these concerns and collaboratively explore solutions that serve the best interests of all stakeholders.
We will keep you updated on the progress of this initiative through future editions of our newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to uphold and promote open, fair, and transparent business practices for the benefit of all HRAI members.
