HRAI Maintains Dialogue with NRCan on Greener Homes Program
Over the past seven months and throughout the summer, HRAI has been meeting bi-weekly with NRCan’s Director responsible for Greener Homes (and other relevant staff as needed), to discuss incremental improvements to the program that make it more workable and useful for HRAI members. As a result, improvements to the product listings were made, as well as the portal used for homeowners to access information and register into the program. NRCan also agreed to do another webinar for manufacturers in May to explain the product selection criteria.
In June, HRAI and NRCan reconvened what is now being called the “Greener Homes HVAC Working Group,” comprised of a dozen or so volunteers recruited for the purpose of providing constructive inputs to make the program work more effectively for industry participants. Many of the Working Group’s recommendations have been well-received. The group’s next meeting has been scheduled for August 11th.
