HRAI Hosts Annual Technical Training Forum
On July 26th and 27th HRAI held its annual Technical Training Forum. At this event HRAI met with all of its instructors nationwide to discuss various issues.
Among the topics discussed was HRAI’s workforce development plan and how HRAI intends to build talent for a clean economy. The industry will need to attract and train more people to the HVAC industry as we move to more renewable technologies such as air source and geothermal heat pumps. HRAI received some positive feedback and constructive suggestions from the instructor group.
Secondly, with the adoption of online learning, HRAI has been able to reach and teach more students than ever before and there is a strong will to make those courses as effective as possible. The team discussed the necessary improvements that will have to be made to courses to maintain success, relying on feedback received from participants. The discussion included how to improve the courses already offered, but also potential new courses related to low carbon technologies and practices.
Finally, the Technical Training Forum discussed how HRAI can maintain and enhance its relationships with important stakeholders. Although HRAI regularly works with relevant industry allies, agencies and partners to address challenges, there is always more that can be done.
