HRAI Contractors Division Recognition Awards Announced at 2022 AGM

Tara Smith, Chair of HRAI’s Contractors Division, announced the recognition awards for outstanding leadership within the Division and the HVACR contractor community at the HRAI Annual General Meeting in Ottawa, Ontario on September 20, 2022.  The award recipients were as follows:

The Craig McCarty Memorial Award

This award recognizes individuals who have shown outstanding leadership and dedication to the HVACR contracting industry in Canada by volunteering to serve in leadership roles within HRAI’s Contractors Division.

This year, HRAI’s Contractors Division was proud to announce the following individual as the recipient:

Eric Foren, of MasterTech HVAC and Plumbing Inc. in Halifax, Ontario received the award in appreciation of his long-standing dedication to HRAI’s Contractors Division and the HVACR industry.

Mr. Foren joined the HRAI Contractors Division Board of Directors in 2007 where he worked diligently to guide the strategic direction of the division and uphold the association’s mission.

Eric was also instrumental on resurrecting the Peer Exchange Program (PEP) Groups as he oversaw the formation of a National Commercial PEP Group which welcomed members and also served as a model for the formation of other PEP Groups.

He served remotely or virtually as Chair of the Contractors Division from 2019-2021 during the pandemic.  Before and during this time he was also one of the representatives of the Contractors Board of Directors on the HRAI National Board.

The Gearld Inch Award for Chapter Leadership

This award recognizes the special efforts of volunteers who have been instrumental in keeping HRAI affiliated chapters and local/regional groups viable and meaningful to members.

Mike Mainolfi of Mainflo Air Systems Inc. in Vaughan, Ontario received the award in appreciation of his work with the HRAI Greater Toronto Area Chapter.  Mainflow Air Systems Inc. joined HRAI Canada and the Chapter in 2002 and Mr. Mainolfi joined the Chapter Executive is 2008.  Eventually he took on the role of Treasurer in 2012, a position he still fills today.  The Chapter greatly appreciates his leadership, loyalty and hard work.
