HRAI Contractor/Member Profile: Hamilton Industries Inc.
It was 2011 when Alex Hamilton made his move in BC's HVACR market. After years of plying his trade school experience at a Burnaby air conditioning company, the Sunshine Coast entrepreneur decided to make his own name in the industry by founding Hamilton Industries Inc.
“I started power washing air conditioners at a family friend’s business after school and ended up working there for about 13 years,” he recalls. “When he went to retire, I knew it was time to give it a shot of my own.”
“It was risky,” he adds, “but it was the best decision I ever made.”
Thirteen years later, the risk has paid off. Today, Hamilton Industries enjoys a reputation in the Greater Vancouver area for delivering a wide range of HVAC products and services for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. From installations to repairs, preventative maintenance to energy management, and geothermal expertise to variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technologies, Hamilton and his growing team of technicians are staying busy.
“We’re trusted for a lot of different jobs, whether it’s for restaurants, retail chains, office towers, residential buildings, or getting someone set up with a quality HVAC system in their home,” Hamilton says.
Hamilton Industries’s portfolio also includes work at the RCMP Headquarters in Surrey, several major grocery chains and pharmacies, and all McDonalds locations for Vancouver and much of the Lower Mainland.
The team isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Looking ahead, Hamilton says he is eager to continue expanding the company’s footprint and honing its expertise: “Our philosophy is that we can always get a little better every day, and our goal is to bring those improvements to our customers to help make their homes more comfortable and their businesses more successful.”
