HRAI Congratulates This Spring’s Orvil L. Davie Bursary Recipient - Morganna Sampson of Victoria, BC
The Orvil L. Davie Bursary Committee have made their selection for the Spring 2022 $1,000 bursary and the applicant chosen is Morganna Sampson of Victoria, BC. Morganna is a student at Camosun College in the Sheet Metal Program. Her instructor stated ‘Morganna has demonstrated such an obvious LOVE of the sheet metal trade. From day one, she was asking questions on subject matter taught well into level 3 & 4, it quite honestly was very inspiring and refreshing to see a new student with so much passion! … She will continue to grow into a phenomenal HVAC technician and will be one of the industry’s best, mark my words!’ Congratulations Morganna!

‘I am beyond grateful to be a recipient of the 2022 Orvil Davie Bursary. For the past two years I have been diving deep into learning about HVAC sheet metal and loving every minute of it. The problem solving aspect of building fittings for residential ductwork and installation reminds me of playing with Lego blocks all day. Which is so fun! After a long journey of taking Business and Marketing in College, then traveling across the globe for a year and realizing an office/computer job is not what I am looking for, I am happy to say that I have found a trade and art to commit to.
