HRAI BC Mini-Conference: Knowledge, Connections, and Industry Impact

HRAI recently held its BC Mini-Conference, delivering an energizing and content-rich morning for the roughly 80 attendees who joined us at the Delta Burnaby Hotel. The day offered-up four outstanding presentations that were exceptionally well received by a diverse audience of industry representatives.

  • Martin Luymes of HRAI opened the speaker lineup with valuable updates on government and stakeholder relations, offering insights into policy, regulatory changes, and advocacy priorities that impact HVACR contractors across British Columbia and Canada.
  • He was followed by Briley Tait of Somerville National Leasing, who shared practical strategies to help small and medium-sized service businesses optimize operations and cash flow through tailored fleet leasing and management solutions.
  • Returning by popular demand, Laura Sukorokoff of Take Charge Learning delivered an engaging and memorable session on effective communication, engagement, and “power skills,” emphasizing their importance in strengthening leadership and improving team performance in the skilled trades.
  • Rounding out the program, Technical Safety BC, represented by Hamid Azarnoush and Mike Wendland, provided attendees with clear, actionable information on refrigeration safety, BPV compliance, contractor licensing, and quality control expectations.

The Mini-Conference offered valuable learning, meaningful connections, and fresh industry insights, demonstrating the ongoing value HRAI brings to contractors and partners across the province.
