HRAI’s 2022 Ontario Budget Submission Calls for Greater Investments in HVACR
This week HRAI submitted four recommendations in its Ontario Budget Consultation submission entitled, “Better Buildings, Better Jobs: Leveraging HVACR Industry Expertise for a Healthier, More Sustainable Future.” Pre-Budget submissions provide a unique opportunity for industry to make recommendations to the government as they begin to plan for the upcoming fiscal year. These recommendations will urge the government to take action on specific issues of concern for industry.
In developing this year’s submission, HRAI sought member input on the topics and issues that the HVACR industry was facing. Using the insights shared by members, HRAI staff were able to craft the following four key recommendations:
- Introduction of a Home and Building Retrofit Program
- Improving Ventilation and IAQ Standards
- Supporting HVACR Workforce Development
- Eliminating Municipal Heating Contractor Licensing
