Home Heating and Cooling - Share your feedback with the City of Vancouver

The City of Vancouver is continuing to move forward with the Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) approved by city council in 2020. As part of the CEAP. the city of Vancouver aims to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030 by improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon pollution.

After implementing regulations for new buildings on January 1st, 2022, the city is now turning its attention to existing buildings.

HRAI staff met with City of Vancouver staff on January 25 to learn about the city’s proposed actions and provide early feedback.

From now until the end of February, HRAI members and Vancouver residents can learn about the proposed regulation and supports, and complete the guided feedback form which includes a combination of information and opportunity to provide comment. Additionally, members can sign-up to attend a virtual public workshop on February 26.

The public engagement page can be found here: https://shapeyourcity.ca/home-heating-cooling

Members are encouraged to provide feedback directly to the city through engagement channels.  We’d also like to hear directly from members to help inform our ongoing engagement with the city on this topic.
