Environment and Climate Change Canada Funding Opportunities under Low Carbon Economy Fund

As members may be aware, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) launched a new intake for the “Champions Stream” of the Low Carbon Economy Fund on January 27th. The program provides funding support to reduce GHG emissions and can contribute between $1 million and $25 million to projects that meet program criteria.

ECCC is looking for projects that result in “material, incremental and cost-effective GHG emissions reductions in 2030 and over the lifetime of the project.”  Technologies used must also be commercially available (8 or above on the Technology Readiness Level scale).

Projects that explore possible methods of reducing GHG emissions reductions but do not implement them (e.g. projects focussed on research and development, feasibility/pre-engineering studies, behavioural change, or education and capacity building) are not eligible.

HRAI will be hosting a webinar to assist members who may be interested in pursuing these funding opportunities. Stay tuned for more details.
