Drafting a Win: Martino Design Studio receives BILD Award

Congratulations to Martino Design Studio for its BILD Award in mechanical/HVAC design. The accolade is both a first for the Vaughan-based Studio and a milestone for the Martino Group of Companies, which is excited to see its design firm earning a spotlight all its own. 

Martino Design Studio is one of several businesses under the Martino Group of Companies umbrella, which itself began as Martino HVAC back when Mike Martino first founded it in 1987. And while Martino HVAC has won numerous BILD Awards for Trade Contractor of the Year, this is the first time the company’s design team has been recognized on its own. “Mike, Jeff [Martino], and I have been working for years to distinguish the businesses, so this is a huge accomplishment we’re very proud of,” Matthew Sivin, Vice President of Design at Martino Design Studio, explains. “Receiving this award reassures us that all the hard work – the late nights and weekends – has truly paid off.” 

The BILD Award relies on nominees’ industry references. Martino’s design team received endorsements from 15 custom designers, architects, and peers in the HVAC community. Sivin says the team is grateful for client support, which motivates them to keep building the Studio’s profile. 

Sivin is also thankful to the HVAC community. That includes HRAI, in which he sits on the CSA F326 and Residential Air System Design (RASD) Committee alongside HRAI staff. “[Being involved with HRAI] has really taken us to the next level. Without that experience and knowledge, I wouldn’t be able to provide our clients with new ideas for mechanical designs, custom sizing and ventilation, as well as informed recommendations on the production side of things." 

With its first BILD Award in hand, the Martino Design Studio team is eager to continue making a name for itself among the Martino Group of Companies. Moreover, says Sivin, “The award has really been a signal to us that we can ‘set the bar higher’ so we can give the clients and our builders exactly what they're looking for.”
