Bruce Passmore Retires
The HVACR industry is celebrating the retirement of Bruce Passmore after more than two decades of leadership and service.
Bruce has long been a dedicated supporter of HRAI and the broader industry. He served on the HRAI Wholesalers Board of Directors from 2013 to 2022 and acted as Chair of the Wholesalers Board in 2016 to 2017. During that time, he also served as Chair of the HRAI Board of Directors in 2017 to 2018, providing leadership to the association. In recognition of his contributions, Bruce received the HRAI Merit Award in 2022.
HRAI President and CEO Sandy MacLeod reflected on Bruce’s impact and personal mentorship: “Bruce was my first HVACR mentor. When I joined HRAI, he made sure I had a proper introduction to the industry. It’s not often your new boss invites you to his cottage for dinner with him and his parents, but Bruce is just that kind of guy. Thank you for the support you’ve given me and HRAI over the years. Happy retirement, Bruce, you’ve truly earned it.”
Martin Luymes, HRAI’s Vice President of Government and Stakeholder Relations, noted, “Bruce has been a driving force in the HVACR industry for as long as I’ve known him. His commitment to making the industry better, and his support for colleagues along the way, have left a lasting impact.”
Lauralei Heggie, Director of Education and Learning Strategies at HRAI, shared her appreciation: “When I joined HRAI and began working with the Wholesalers Board, Bruce was incredibly generous with his guidance. I learned a great deal from him and remain grateful for the support he offered as I found my footing in this industry.”
Bruce’s impact will be felt for years to come through the people he mentored, the organizations he strengthened, and the industry he helped shape. On behalf of the entire HRAI community, we thank Bruce for his years of service and wish him every happiness in his retirement.
