Article re: Orvil L. Davie Bursary

The Orvil L. Davie Bursary Fund (named after the first Chair of the Board of HRAI) was established by HRAI to assist students in completing their education for a career in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry (HVACR) and to assist in maintaining a higher caliber of HVACR industry personnel.

The fund provides bursaries to persons who require financial assistance in completing training in an accepted course directly related to the HVACR industry.  Applicants for the bursaries may come from the community or vocational college systems, or through industry sources such as the provincial apprenticeship programs.

This December 2022 recipients are:

Melissa Palamer from Algonquin College, Ontario

Krista Buzzeo from Camosun College, British Colombia

Devon Mahon from Centennial College, Ontario

"I was thrilled to learn of my selection as the recipient for the Orvil L. Davie Memorial Fund. This truly is an honor, and I am deeply appreciative for the support. As a mature student and a mom of three, by awarding me this bursary, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on my schooling. I am excited about my future prospects as I progress through the HRAC program at Algonquin College. Thank you HRAI." Melissa Palamar

I would like to thank the HRAI board of directors for awarding me with the Orvil L Davie memorial fund bursary. It’s an absolute honour to be recognized and supported for my education and training in the HVAC and refrigeration industry. “ Krista Buzzeo

Oh, wow thank you very much, this will really help.” Devon Mahon

Congratulations to all three recipients!!  All the best in your future endeavours in the HVACR Industry!

A huge thank you to Marc Gendron, David Morden and Ron Robinson for serving on the selection committee for the Orvil L. Davie Bursary Fund!
