A2L Refrigerants now Available in HRAI’s Registered P-Standard Drawings

As the industry transitions to lower-GWP refrigerants, it’s essential to have the right resources to support safe and compliant system design. To reflect these changes, HRAI’s existing P-Standard drawings in its Ontario BPV Compliance Assistance Program have been updated to include A2L refrigerants, specifically R-32 and R-454B.

These updates align with evolving regulations and best practices, ensuring that HVAC professionals have accurate guidance as they work with new refrigerants. By incorporating A2L refrigerants into the P-Standard drawings, this update provides system design adjustments required for the refrigerant transition. HRAI has the following registered P-Standards in the program:

•            Roof Level Installation Condensing Unit above DX Coil

•            Ground Level Installation Condensing Unit below DX Coil

•            Packaged A/C Unit with Remote Condensers

•            Built-Up Air Conditioning Systems

•            Packaged DX Chillers

•            Commercial Refrigeration: Compressor, Receiver Packaged below Evaporators

•            Commercial Refrigeration: Packaged Condensing Receiver Unit above Evaporators

•            Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems

The revised drawings are now available, and we strongly recommend existing program members to start using them moving forward. Login with your credentials to access the portal here. For anyone interested in learning more about HRAI’s BPV Compliance Assistance program please click here.
