What you will learn

This 2-day course introduces participants to the basic concepts of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), reviewing contaminants/air pollutants and the elements of house and small commercial construction, including their effects on ventilation. Instructors will discuss proper design and control of IAQ including how to operate and maintain buildings, mechanical and electrical systems to ensure good indoor environmental quality. Attendees will receive an overview of instrument categories/test and sampling kits to solve IAQ problems and learn the systematic process of engaging in an indoor environmental quality survey. The Best Part: The IAQ course is structured as an interactive format, where students participate in workshops and complete various assignments based on existing codes, standards, guidelines and established good practice. Cancellation Policy

  • Registration fees will be refunded in full if cancellation is received by HRAI at least 30 days prior to the training date.
  • Cancellations received 15 to 29 days prior to the training date are subject to a $150 cancellation fee.
  • Registrants who do not attend the training or who cancel less than 15 days prior to the training date are liable for the entire registration fee.
  • A substitute registrant may be enrolled at any time by contacting us at training@hrai.ca, or by phone at 1 800 267 2231 ext 230.

Exam Policy

  • Participants will be provided with two exam attempts at no additional charge.
  • A third and final exam attempt will be available for a fee of $150.
  • No further exam attempts will be permitted after the third attempt. If unsuccessful, a full course retake will be required and will be offered at 50% of the full course price.
  • Exam reviews are intended for learners who are within 5% of the passing grade.
  • Scores significantly below the passing grade indicate substantial gaps in understanding, and learners are encouraged to revisit the course materials.
  • Requests for instructor time outside of scheduled sessions may be subject to additional charges.
