Significant Changes to the Employment Standards Act - Are You Ready?

The media has been afire over the new law, Bill 148; Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs, which received Royal Assent on November 27, 2017. This Bill brings significant changes to the Employment Standards Act (ESA). Most of the media focus has been on increases to minimum wage; however, there are other changes that will have a significant impact and cost on small businesses.

Bill 148 is a contentious Act making sweeping changes to the Employment Standards Act and the Labour Relations Act. The Act will have a major impact on small business in Ontario.
