HRAI Government Relations
The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada’s (HRAI) manufacturers division provides federal and provincial government agencies with up-to-date industry information and represents the industry in legislative and regulatory matters. Close contact is maintained with federal and provincial ministries of environment, energy, trade and consumer affairs. The division also maintains close contact with utilities, building code authorities, and related industry associations across the country and internationally, concerning regulatory and legislative issues.
Current regulatory issues of major importance to members include refrigerant impact on the ozone layer, the transition to new refrigerants, minimum standards of energy efficiency for indoor environment products, indoor air quality, climate change, international trade and environmental standards.
